In town yesterday buying a new switch for my bathroom, I decided to replace a flush to the ceiling light for a small toilet and bought a more up to date version. Taking down the old light fitting, I discovered that the wiring which I presume previously went into a ceiling rose, was now wired into a terminal strip loosely covered with insulating tape which had long lost its adhesive properties. The live, neutral and earth for the light led from the block into the light itself and after saying all that the light works well. Nevertheless, I would prefer it if the wires were wired into some sort of junction box which could be pushed back into the ceiling space. A small empty box which could house the existing terminal block would do the trick but am not sure if that’s ok. Any suggestions?

That's exactly what I had in mind but didn't know if there was such an item. Thanks for you help.
