I've got a Makita DUR184L Strimmer but the quarter turn on the locksleeve now has no effect in terms of keeping the overall strimmer length constant. It now always extends to maximum.
There are ten bolts on the motor housing at the top of the strimmer that I've removed and that has freed up the external cover at the top end. The cover at the bottom end is still caught by the switch indicator panels and, I guess, the end of the cover goes under the locksleeve.
Is there a way of getting the cover off other than forcing it or an available repair guide ?
