Mandatory ID cards (Brit Card) to be announced tomorrow

You don’t see the difference between a mandatory official digital ID and a digital ID that exists alongside other IDs ?
Not in terms of risk, no.

Interesting phrasing though, any UK Gov digital ID would be 'official' and even this proposed system will exist alongside other forms of Government for years.

You've said you don't object to digital passports, but every complaint you've raised applies equally to that.

So blairs got the contract to rebuild gaza and his son has got the contract to do the ID cards - the war crim is sitting pretty

Wrong again:

FullFact reports that there is "no evidence" of Blair's son or the company being involved in the project, despite Tony Blair's public advocation for the idea in the past.: "This isn't true, according to both the government and Multiverse, which is an 'upskilling company', not a software developer."

It added: "The government has not announced any partner for the project. It's understood the government expects digital ID to be designed, built and run by an in-house team, not outsourced to external suppliers, although there has been some media speculation about whether the scheme may create opportunities for other tech firms."

That’s nearly all the RWR die hard Brexers taken care of. You might as well bin the count now.
The problem with exposing die hard RWRs, is they're being produced all the time by the die hard RWR parents.
They indoctrinate their children, from an early age, with the same bigoted attitudes of the parents.

And due to the parents poor education, their attitude to education for their children is limited, so the children end up poorly educated and their prejudice is locked in where education can't reach it.

I bet they argue that education should be better funded, then they fail to ensure that their children make best use of what is available.

Don't know if it has been mentioned on the numerous pages of this thread, but has anyone heard about the Vietnamese digital ID/ cashless malarky?
I'm guessing that like any emerging nation, over 25s are not so familiar with IT, so the system will take a long time to become the 'norm'.
Universal primary education was only achieved in the last 20 years.

Vietnam is an outlier in that group of countries, as a developing nation on digitisation.
Vietnam is pursuing comprehensive digitalization of its government services as part of its National Digital Transformation Program, which aims to create a digital economy by 2030.

But it will take time for adults over 25 to accept and become familiar with the digitisation, and that includes government personnel.

There is an internal dev team that does all the GOV.UK content. They'd be a natural fit for it amd already have experience in this space. They'd probably bring in specialists to assist with some of the design elements, but thats the best option for government IT ime.

But be warned, they only allow monochromatic content.
