Hi all,

I’m going to be installing a shower cubical in my bathroom in a couple of weeks. The cubical is going into the corner of the room where a stud wall with painted (un-skimmed) plasterboard meets a solid plastered wall.

I’m opting to tank the area before tiling it and I just wondered if anyone had used this “Mapei Mapegum WPS” product previously? If so, any feedback is welcomed!

Also, is there any value in plastering the plasterboard area before tanking it?

Many thanks

Thanks for your reply – I had forgotten I posted this one!

Just for feedback:

I ordered a 10kg tub of Mapei WPS from eBay shop (floormart-flooring) for £35 inc delivery. I also got 25m role Mira of tanking tape from pureadhesion.co.uk for £20 inc delivery.

I only had one shower enclosure to do and along the top of the bath, but have enough WPS and tape left over to do 3 or 4 more showers. The WPS keeps for a couple of years so I’ll get my money’s worth out of it in time.

I know the BAL kit includes a ground sheet (which I’d didn’t require), but I think I’ve got far better value for money shopping around and getting this stuff separately.

Thanks for this post - I also got the mapeigum WPS from the same guy on ebay £35 delivered and the Mira roll is now down to £16 delivered for 25M from Pureadhesion

Screwfix do the Dunlop kit for £42 for a small area shower about 4 sq/m
