Hi, I have oak parquet floor/old pine stair case and new pine door frames&skirts /old pitch pine doors -all newly sanded. I want to keep the natural colour of the reclaimed parquet so have just purchased clear hard wax oil for this. Im not sure if I should use the clear hardwax oil on the stairs and doors as they are nice wood.My problem being I dont want randow/odd colours of wood that may look silly.Im happy to stain the door frames and skirts and try to match thems they are new cheap wood. I dont want to make any mistakes on the old wood as a lot of effort has gone into stripping the wood back to its natural state. Any suggestions on trying to match the woods.I know I can stain the lot the same colour but im sceptical .Or shoudl I just go wild and hardwax oil the oak/pitch pine and stair pine in a clear matt then stain the rest of the wood in one stain...hhuummm?
