Max Decking height

Hi. I have seen different maximum heights mentioned for raised decking that can be built under permitted development rights.

People mention 1.8m, where is this stated?, as in the town & country planning act (general permitted dev) it seems to suggest all (non-inhabitable) structures within the curtilage shall be max 3m hight (for those with pitched roofs) or 2 m in other cases
If it is 1.8m, what happend to the other 0.2m!!

Any advice most welcome!

speak to your local planning office. some will allow it some will have different interpretations. weve done them on flat roofs before and theres been no problem from planning or building control.
