I too say avoid using MDF for floor boarding. In my Grade II listed cottage I had to create a suspended floor above the "historic fabric" floor. For speed I used MDF in the bedroom. That was five years ago, some time soon that will be replaced. Probably be the same as the floor in the bathroom which is 12mm marine plywood with 12mm thick oiled oak boards
