Mdpe fitting developed slight leak

This fitting has developed as slight leak. Any chance it may just nip up?

Of course.
Spray it with silicone spray (furniture polish sometimes contains this) which will aid the nut to slip rather than drag the o rings.

Make sure you can isolate the supply though, in case it goes AOT.

Be gentle, nip just enough to stop the weep. Don't graunch it.
If it doesn't work, isolate. Dismantle. Check o rings. Regrease with silicone grease and reassemble.

I’ve also found they only leak when the water is on! Strange isn’t it?

Turn it back a 1/4 turn first before nipping it up, gives it a little relief and allows it to resit on the seal properly.

It's a plasson one. This is the type with the split grab ring?

A lot of people put the grab ring on the wrong way round and the pipe creeps out.

Yes, hold the blade at 90 degrees and gently scrape. Don’t go mad with it.

Thanks I'm I correct in saying passon fittings are basically push fit? Notice they have an oring in there. Or does the compression of the nut help seal. Or is it really just to stop the fitting blowing off the pipe?
