Hi
I'm sourcing the material for my extension and I'm really struggling to decide weather to use Medium density concrete blocks or Aerated Blocks on the inside skin of my cavity wall. The outside skin is brick on the ground floor and medium density with tile hanging on the first floor)
I can get both block types for about the same price and with either Dritherm 37 /34 i can hit the required u value ('0.28') for regs
What are the major advantages/disadvantages of each?
I'm assuming plastering direct onto aerated block is harder/impossible?
fixings will be easier to attach / hold better on med density?
Chasing out for electrics will be a lot easier with aerated....
If you have the choice what would you use?
Thanks
M
