Hi i wonder if anyone can help.

My exhaust is hanging down from the back. Looks like the rubber on the hanger is split. I bought a new one which is metal with rubber in and straps on. How the hell does this fit on? Im a bit of a novice but i want to try and do this myself. Looked everywhere on net for pictures and how to install it but no joy. I hope someone can help m. Pleeeeease.....

Thanks
Simon.

A bit of a juggling act really....notice that the bar welded to the silencer is at an almost impossible angle - fit the exhaust hanger to this first, then heave the silencer over to the bodywork connection. There should be enough movement to attach it reasonably easily.
A hook made from 5mm stiff wire is used by exhaust fitters, who would be happy to do the job for you for the price of a packet of fags.

Spraying the inside of the rubber with WD40 will considerably reduce the effort required to fit it.

I fitted one of these recently, with a duff arm with the car on a big slope and not jacked up. That was about a week after it broke and I'd temporarily suspended it with an improvised bracket consisting of the old mounting and some tie wraps etc, with a duff arm, on a big slope and not jacked up whilst I waited for my ebay replacement to arrive, you guys have obviously never worked on Meganes before! :P

You'll be complaining you have to take the wheel off to change a bulb next!
