Metal Killing plate for RATS

Hi Guys,

I have a problem, i recently had a extension done to my house, and now i have rats under my floor boards. (Builders left things open for a day or 2)

Is it possible to make some sort of electric killing plate - eg using a car battery and hooking it up to a bit a metal plate?

I have already tried using the eletric rat killer which you can buy online - but no joy after one kill.

I don't want to use poison as i don't want them to die under the floor boards.

Whats wrong with a rat trap?... like a mousetrap, but about twice as big, much stronger spring, made of stainless steel and fit menaceing looking spikes sticking out where the bar snaps down?

I thought that bromadialone acts as a diuretic to the rat so they go off in search of water, and do not die under your floor?

I have already used rat traps but had no joy
I have placed food on them and they just seem to clear off the food without the trap going off.

i don't think there a way out as everything its sealed. So Poison would killed them anywhere.
