Armoured feeding lamppost with Earth rod at post is this ok(tncs). ps its linked from weather seal isolator inside post to metal of post and bonded to earth rod
There is no longer any mention of what I have just said, although mention is made of double insulated lamp heads - in this case, the column should not be earthed.
Thanks the only reason for the earth rod is lightening strikes, and wasn't sure about if there was a neatral fault ( ie as on caravans ) on a TNCS The metal of lampost may become live. ps its glanded, mcb protected & weather seal fused spur inside
We always earth the column and the door. 10mm2 from the cutout to the earth stud on the col and 6mm from the stud to the door.
Ive had a live column situation before due to reversed polarity on a faulty joint. Also had an incident with a dog p*ssing on the base and getting a shock.
So on TN-C-S system we should not bond the column ?
