Metal wire in thermalite

I was channelling out today and came across a thin metal wire.

After shtting myself and reminding myself I wasn't on the floor with my hair on end it appeared to be a bit of galvanised metal.

Interested to know what this is for if anyone knows or if it was just left there from build.

Looks like the end of a (stainless steel?) wall-tie. Is it in a cavity wall?
