MG ZR+ starter, dash problem

hi all, hope someone can help, i have a MG zr+ on an 03 plate. the starter motor started too make a noise like the teeth were worn out, but now the dash board lights have gone off, and when key turned too start, they stay off, and doesn't start??????


any ideas welcome please

Sounds as though either the starter has jammed or the battery is flat, or you have a bad connection on it.

batterie fully charged, and all fuses working, yep passable the starter is jammed, but don't understand why ignition lights on the dash will not come on when key turned, thanks for reply

Do you have voltage on any other electrics, do the lights work?

Peter I think you are bang on here.....I'd look at the battery connections first, followed by the other end of the earth lead.
