microbore - how long can you make the runs?

As title really, how long can the runs be between the manifold and the radiator? I was told by a plumbers merchants that they wouldn't use it on anything over 6 metres.

It depends on the heat output of the radiator and sixze of microbore pipe being used

It also depends on the design temperature drop across the system. Older systems were theoretically designed for an 11º C drop but new systems may be designed around 20º C drop, which means lower flow rates and therefore smaller pipes and/or longer runs would be acceptable.

20 feet per flow & return was what was recomended in 1976 by the then Heating council.
Also when i did my ACOPS about 10 years ago it was again mentioned as about the same (metres this time)
I did have the book and will try and find it
