I have an old 600w microwave oven and am uncertain as to what fuse to use in the plug - is a 13 amp fuse correct?

Secondly, because of the lack of regular sockets in my kitchen, I would like to make use of the spare socket in my cooker socket. Is this safe?

yes

yes.

Your microwave's output is 800 watts, but its input is significantly more therefore 13 amp is the fuse to use.

Microwave Oven : Can I replace 16amp plug (EU plug) to 13amp UK plug ? Will it be safe to use ?
