We have an 8 year old Miele Novotronic W828 washing machine which has stopped working. Every time we start a load the check inlet red light flashes. I was hoping someone could tell me what this is and how to fix it as we no longer have our manual.

I quote, 'the water inlet is restricted' The stopcock is not opened far enough or the inlet hose is kinked or your water pressure is too low or [most likely] The filters are blocked.
There is a fine mesh filter at each end of the inlet hose. turn off the water, unscrew the hose at both ends ,remove each filter carefully[tweezers help] clean and reassemble.
