Miele Novotronic W844 fault

My machine goes through the entire cycle, but, after the wash bit finishes the "main wash" lamp is left flashing. I would like to know whether my machine has both a thermostat and a negative temp. coeff resistor (thermistor). The water warms up to start with but is not as hot at the end of the wash cycle.
This may sound silly, I'm a qualified electro mechanical engineer but am wary of taking this machine apart! All help in resolving this fault would be appreciated.

If you're lucky on the inside of the machine will be a sheet detailing the wires and components.

If it's like the w828 then it will have an NTC only.

Lid off,
Screws around the soap dispenser.
3 bolts around the drum opening.
Unclip the hose part by the drain/filter
The front swings open (door style).

Very easy to sort. Please unplug first
