Hi can someone help please? The two red lights "Check drain" "Check Inlet" keep coming on after about 2 weeks worth of washing. This is the leak detection wit a sort of float switch in a small sump in the bottom of the washer. When I strip it down there is water in this sump but I can't see where it is coming from. Is this a regular thing? I was going to change the door seal but they are £90 so would rather not spend that if I don't need to.
Cheers,
Stu.

Now the plot thickens? Stripped down the washer and removed the water from the bottom sump bit. Thought that the leak was coming from the back of the detergent tray so I removed it and cleaned it. there is a small rubber gasket at the back that was quite gunked up. now that I have put it back together it wont run. I am getting the check inlet light on after about 60 seconds and no water enters the machine. If I apply power to the solenoid valve I can get it to admit water but it will not do this automatically. does anyone have any ideas please? Also if I try just to put it onto spin only it runs but when the time comes to go upto full speed it stops and the check inlet light flashes. The bit I took apart looks like it has a little stepper motor in it with a few gears in and a small circuit board, with no components on it. One of the gears had little finger connections on it and the red gear had numbers on it. I think it's got me beat.

Did you tilt the machine forward to get the water out? Did you use a hair dryer to ensure the float switch was dry as a bone?
Is the stepper motor for diverting water onto the door glass?
I had an inlet water problem on my Miele but I have a w828.
I found mine admitted water correctly in service mode but wouldn't do it correctly when washing.
My w828 goes into this service/ diagnostic mode by holding down start and short then turning the machine on with the power button (dial in finished pos & door closed)
Cottons 95, 75, and 60 on my machine test the water inlet system.
Turn it off to exit.
Some of the other washes test other functions too
