miele washer dryer wt2670 fan blows warm air continously once the machine is switched on and never stops.

I have returned to London and found that my expensive Miele washer dryer (just over 11 years old) has decided to have the fan going every time the on button is pressed. This fan blows out warmish air...and keeps going whilst the wash cycle is on! It only turns off when the machine is switched off....NO Error messages displayed!


Considering buying a new, cheaper washer, without a dryer, as miele repairs are very expensive.

Is it worth repairing?

Probably a stuck relay on a control board. If you can get access to it a few taps of a screwdriver might unstick it if that's the cause. Obviously I recommend doing this with appliance isolated from mains power.
