The diagrams on p31 are intended primarily for detached buildings such as garages, small workshops/storage units etc. Also annexes attached to dwellings, but intended to be entered separately from the dwelling (see drawings on p14). They are not intended for extensions to the house when the extension is open to, and a part of, the house.

You could put it to the Inspector but I doubt he'll buy it.
