I have a Mira 88 shower valve running off a gravity fed hot water cylinder. The boiler has finally died so we are thinking of replacing it with a combination. WIll this valve work on a combination boiler.
Here is a picture of the valve.

This shower was never designed for mains pressure systems.
I have seen them on combi's etc working ok but have also seen them where they don't and the seals etc have failed.

I would opt for a nice new thermostatic mixer.

If not designed for mains operation, why did they make a model to use with multipoint heaters?

Thank you for your reply. I thought it might not work. Would the Mira Discovery valve fit in without major pipe alteration and without having to chop tiles off the wall??

Does anyone know which combi valve I could use which has got 80mm pipe centres???? Have looked on internet struggling to find one :(

Mira 88 shower controls MI's say.

Maximum static pressure 10bar equal hot and cold water.

Maximum flow rate 55ltres/min (ie 5bar pressure loss from inlets to outlets)
