Please help. We have just had builders in replacing the shower cubicle. They've left but when reconnecting the expensive Mira Event X5 shower unit they've not connected it to both hot and cold water feed. This means we're getting very hot showers on the lowest dial setting, with no way to turn it down.

We've recalled him but he's on holiday next week. Can we use the shower as it is until it's fixed? Is it that he's connected the hot water feed without also connecting the cold water?

Is it OK to use? We don't want to damage the shower unit.

How have you established that cold water has not been plumbed to the shower ?

It may be that it hasn't been commissioned properly and there is an air lock on the cold side. If it runs too hot just now I wouldn't use it in case it scalds someone.

Regardless, he needs to come back and sort it and then test it!!

Thanks for your help. I've spoken to Mira and booked an engineer to come out. It may be a coincidence in timing.
