I have a Makita MLS 100 and May at some point upgrade to a sliding version. I currently place it in the floor every time I want to use it and then have to figure out how I keep studs and skirting level when I place the cut. I usually pack the furthest end of the timber with some offcuts to bring it to the same height as the section that is being cut. Not ideal.

I gather that a mitre saw stand is the way to fix this. I can see that Makita have a few mitre saws, there’s other brands and some folks are using saw horses and some wood to achieve this.

Can I get some advice on this please. It’s becoming difficult to cut everything on the floor.

Make a miter saw bench.

I sold my stand as I never used it.

i have the dewalt 7023 and its brilliant it can accommodate most iff not all makes off saws
what ever saw stand you choose make sure it aluminium as steel ones are a killer weight wise

I bought a Macalister one from B&Q, cheap as chips (£40 on offer) it's utterly crap, needed quite a bit of 'adjustment' before it was anything like flat though does accommodate quite a bit of length (ooer missus). But I can't imagine using a mitre saw on the ground.
