Mixer tap - hot water still running when tap is off

The hot water tap on the mixer continues to run -slowly -more than a drip - when turned off.

Could anyone advise please - I was thinking it must be a seal but actually no idea....

If its a traditional multi turn tap (against a 1/4 turn ceramic one) then the rubber tap washer has split / disintegrated / vanished.....
Dead easy to do, even more so if you can isolate the hot supply!
