Mixer tap kitchen sink

Hi
The end bit of the mixer tap has just fell off. I'm struggling to get in back on correctly. Does the threaded bit go in first or the plastic bit? Is it knackered once it falls out?

usually the plastic bit (with holes/slots in it?) goes into the threaded bit and that screws back into the spouty endy bit Can you put a pic of it on so we can see if it's broken or not?
