Damn expensive, but could be cheaper (no plastering) and (def) less hassle to install.
However, how are you supposed to go when you want to extend an existing circuit with an existing wired multigang switch you want to keep as part of the circuit?
I thought maybe Echo switches might be made as grid modules so you could have conventional wired switches alongside echo ones, but this is not the case.
