MK sockets.. safe?

Is it just me or do other people find that the MK sockets have their L and N far too close for comfort, particularly when trying to wire the older multi-strand cables into their rather small terminals.

Can anyone recommend a socket with decent separation and plenty of room to get 3 of these cables into the terminal. Or are there any clever accessories out there to keep the strands together.

MK are reputed to be the "rolls royce" of electrical sockets and switches.

Yuo could try using a pair of pliers and slightly twisting the wires together. But do not over do it as if they are solid they will snap.
