I have a fairly modern looking new build and was looking to utilize screening around the front and back garden. Typical uses like hiding the bins and small ares of fencing.

I love the look of Cedar and Iroko but as I only plan to be here for a few more years and as the house is in a crap area it doesn't seem worth spending over 1k on hardwood. So I've been trying to find a smooth and treated softwood that would fit the bill and doesn't look crap.

The timber this guy uses for his panels looks spot on for what I'm after...

The closest I've come to it though is the roofing battens at selco lol.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

i would imagine his are just roofing battens run through a planer.

They are the cheapest way to get that effect by a long way
