Hiya new to this so be gentle
I've a 11 year old Vauxhall Mokka and have been told by two garages that I need the egr cooler replaced. Cool beans you would think but Vauxhall don't make that part anymore but I've managed to source one on eBay.
My question is, as it's a long job to replace the cooler, should I ask garage to do the egr valve at the same time? think my car has two, one with the cooler.
Any help would be amazing

What engine?

What mileage?

What service history?

What type of driving?

What have emissions been like over the last few months? Figures staying the same, or climbing etc

How long is your piece of string?

But for absolute piece of mind, why not change it?

Hi thank you both for reply, actually forgot I posted on here
Cars done 90,000, it's a 1.7 diesel. Came with service history and I've had one annually. Had fuel filter changed and timing belt done. I'm a low miles driver.
I've fumes coming in car, had a diagnostic and pointed at cooler.
Is it ok to get a second hand egr valve?? New for my car are a couple of hundred quid plus but saying that the only new egr cooler I could find was £850 got second hand much cheaper!!

How much you paying for it to be fitted?

Could easily be false economy. Do you know it's history?

I've had car a few years, to sell it I would only get a couple of grand, which would just buy me another banger.
Been quoted £200 to fit cooler, which I didn't think too bad.
Another garage mentioned having re mapped to avoid faulty part but wasn't keen on that.
