I've just moved into a new property and it has brought the usual issues which, having been in 6 weeks are starting to show up.
One of the biggest is damp in the corner of the lounge up to about 12 inches high and 6-12 inches across. I've repointed some external mortar above the damp proof course but can't honestly see that being the solution as the house is a 1950s build and has a cavity wall.
In an old house I had, I put in a damp course as there was wide scale damp downstairs but this new house's issue seems to be quite localised. The corner of the house is south west facing and definitely gets the worst of the rain, etc. so maybe is a contributing factor.
Any thoughts, help, potential solutions would be much appreciated....
