I need a 240v to 12v, 4amp lead for a computer monitor flat screen. Any suggestions?

you need a transformer / power supply to change form 240 to 12v

If you look on the back of the monitor it will give you the exact voltage/amps required and with which polarity.

You can then match this up in CPC, RS or as the other poster suggested, maplins. You obviously need to make sure that the connector is the same type and size.
 
. Thanks EOTB, on the back of the monitor it says, 12V, Amperes 3.5 and watts 4.5. What does CPC, RS and polarity mean?

cpc and rs are supplies of parts*. (if you see what i mean)

RS is alkward for one offs go to maplins, much easier
