I have just power washed our large monoblock driveway front and back removing all the sand and weeds etc.

It's looking really good but I've now got a dilemma about how/when to fill the gaps between the bricks.

Is it best to wait 6 -7 months (around next March/April time) before filling it when the ground will be much warmer and drier or do I really need to put something down asap before winter comes and potential issues with water freezing underneath the bricks?

Also, in either case, what is the best sand/filler to use to minimise weeds and hopefully avoid having to do this kind of deep clean every year?

Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Why note read through the dedicated paving site, I have linked to one page on sealants but there is more to read about including polymeric resins for jointing.

I would be inclined to fill joints after cleaning out to minimise the amount of crap that will otherwise get in. Zoned sand is a standard block paving fill but as you know it will not stop weeds. Once you have decided on the best treatment to go with then clean again before application
