Recent changes to the Building Regulations mean that it is now a legal requirement for a number of different trades to notify their domestic work to the local building authorities.

The new Building Regulations apply primarily to domestic installations and specify the kinds of work that require notifying for each different trade. For example Part H of the building regulations covers plumbing, where many installations of sanitary ware, washing facilities or bathrooms now require notification. Part F covers ventilation and this requires notification for installation of air conditioning or ventilation systems.

now this is the first time I've heard about this other than a small thing on the IEE forums yesterday, and a quick look at this years april SI update thingy doesn't seem to contain anything (well certainly nothing comes up to do with plumbing, but there is a section inserting air con and mechanical ventillation into a section, but without knowing what it is ammending to, I don't know :s )

Would welcome your comments ban, if anyone can make sense if it, its probably you
