More stupid lockdown questions....

What, like NZ? 25 dead.
How about how they've tackled covid cases in Australia? It's working and they've still 'only' had 900 deaths.

UK deaths - 46 thousand and... counting.

Yeah, lockdown doesn't work. Sigh.
To be fair, they are strict with who enters their islands. Perhaps if they were like Europe and had unmanned land borders and near on 400 million people with an automatic right to enter their country they might have found it a bit harder for lockdown to work for them?

Yup, Island nations have a massive leg up with this Covid-19 stuff.

Yup. As I said, only the ones that don’t have a cheap ferry service and a tunnel going to them and 400 million neighbours with a key to the door and permission to enter.

NZ banned flights/people coming from countries as the cases were appearing there - they did that very early on. Their borders are still closed to foreigners btw, even now.

Why could the UK not do that too? It's a pandemic after all. Even when we had numbers of confirmed cases, the airports were still not shut and am pretty sure we can shut everything in a pandemic....

NZ lockdowned very early. Why could the UK not do that too?
NZ had a fairly good testing and tracing system. Why could the UK not do that too?
NZ people were very good at sticking together and the lockdown obeyed. Why do people in the UK not do that too?!

The difference is.... strong leadership. Our Boris, bless him, didn't take this seriously enough early enough. He still isn't imo.

It's amazing that there are still ignorant people around that don't understand that under EU/EEA law countries are allowed to stop people from moving between European countries if they decide to do so under certain circumstances...

The last bit is important and is I guess what causes the confusion with said ignorant people - 'if they decide to do so'!

Ah, let's blame the illegal immigrants for covid too! yay!
The ignorant already do!

Along with blaming them for everything that may have gone wrong or will go wrong in their pathetic prejudiced lives!

The difference is.... strong leadership. Our Boris, bless him

told us not to worry about keeping safe or following instructions.

'He did what any father would have done'

So he is not to be taken seriously.

Imagine having a Prime Minister who is too weak to sack an unelected advisor

and an unelected adviser who is so powerful that he can sack a Chancellor.

Tell that to the French, they’ve obviously decided not to do so.....

Lockdown can only work if it’s globally coordinated. All other lockdowns just trim the peaks by throttling the supply of Covid cases. The 3 tier system appeared to be showing signs of working.

half tempted to nip back to Greece for a month.
