Morphy Richards Jet Steam Elite iron

I'm trying to fix one of these.

The iron plate gets hot but the steam has stopped coming through.

Is there anything in particular I need to look at / service?

In my experience of trying to repair steam irons, you might as well just throw them away. It is probably scaled up if you live in a hard water area, but even if you unblock it I'll bet it starts to leak afterwards. It's up to you but personally I don't waste time on them nowadays.

And boil the water before using it in the iron, that stops the scaling

After looking at the iron it seems the solenoid downstream from the main water tank on the base unit is not opening to allow water to flow.

I blew through the water pipe from the heater element to the iron and that seemed clear.

Just need to source a new solenoid as it doesn't appear to be available from Morphy Richards.
