im trying to find the location of our motorised valve. We currently have hot water but ch is not working. Plumber says its the motorised valve thats causing the problem, but we can't find it. There is one on the hotwater tank but it apparently just controls the water. We have looked beside the boiler in the kitchen, looked under the floorboards in the utility, kitchen and dining room and found nothing, help!

the pump is downstairs under floorboards, the cyclinder/tank is upstairs. the plumber already looked at the pump and said there was no mv there. followed the pipes to the utility, no mv, followed pipes in kitchen, no mv, checked in the dining room, no mv. there is a two port mv beside the tank/cyclinder upstairs, it controls the hot water which is still working but the ch is not.

Do you have 2 or 4 pipes coming off your boiler

i can see two pipes at the back of the boiler, but its difficult to tell as its on the floor, tight to the wall with units either side

Sounds fully pumped then as opposed to c plan..... Some people put mot valves in really stupid places and as you are finding out can be a pain to find.Look for where there might be a trap in your boards ie 2/3 next to each other that have been up.
There is no easy way to find these valves he may have put it anywhere on heating flow or return

Pretty much everything in this house is not where its suppose to be, its a nightmare. Can the be upstairs as well as downstairs?

the plumber said it was not the pump that was away as we are still getting hot water
