I have a damp black mould patch about a foot sq. in the corner of my bathroom ceiling. How best to remove it and then to stop it coming back please. Thanks in advance,Mike

Have a look in the loft to make sure there is no plumbing or roofing leak wetting the ceiling. Also make sure it is properly insulated otherwise steam will tend to condense on the cold plaster.

Then fit an automatic extractor fan that comes on every time you turn on the light (otherwise people will not bother to turn it on) and use it whenever you have a bath or shower or even wash your hands or clean your teeth.

Once you have cured the damp, use a bleach or other mould-killer, after it's dead, scrub it off and repaint the ceiling.

Do it the other way round - cure the damp first, then remove the mould.

Thanks for your advice, have killed it with flash and cuprinol. Will now try that paint. Fan will have to wait until later,Mike
