How do you stop "mould restitant" bathroom sealant from going black with mould. I have twice during the past 12 months resealed but what a job!

What brand of silicone are you using ?

Get a good brand such as Dow Corning 785

You won't get this in the DIY sheds, go find your local independent plumbers merchant.

Rip out the existing seal and get rid of all traces of it. Use a knocked down mix of bleach and water (about 20 to 1) to remove any last spores. Then clean the bath top and tiles with meths to clear any residue of soap/bleach, you are now good to go with the silicone.

It needs to be kept dry and well ventilated, lack of cleaning and poor ventilation will result in mold on sealant [whatever the brand].
