Mounting Techniques that don't leave a mark?

Hiya!

I'm trying to design a remote control for some lights in the bathroom (don't worry, the remote/lights are 100% safe for water!). However, the remote has a holder for when its not in use.

I would like the holder to be attachable to the wall, or possibly to the side of the bath.............the wall could be tiled, painted or even wallpapered though, so has to be good for any.

What method can I use to attach it? I don't want to use screws/nails, as this will damage things. I though of suction cups, but wanted to know if there's anything better??

Double sided tape suggested is good for tile but will tear wall paper or pull paint off a bare wall , suction cups would not work on wall paper, you need to match the fixing type to the wall surface.

These double sided pads are designed to remove without marking and they work

I'm with footprints - command strips are brilliant. Even after a few years, they will pull off mutliple layers of emulsion paint on lime plaster without leaving a mark - even Blu-tak won't do that! The only disadvantage is that you need to leave the removal tab showing.

...And they stick like poo to a blanket.

Thanks everyone, I've bought some of the command strips, so will give them a go tonight

Will have to work out a way to hide the tabs, will probably just tuck them in somewhere
