moving a rad ... pipe freezing etc?

Hello

I'm moving a radiator a few feet and have been researching on the internet. I'm fairly confident I can DIY it but have found various methods.

A couple of questions please?

1. What is best ... to drain the system or freeze the pipe? The freezing method does sound easiest.
2. Are speedfit/john guest push fittings Ok for central heating? They will probably be under the floor

Draining will be cheaper than freezing.

Up to you what fittings you choose but I prefer soldered. :D
