I want to replace my downstairs toilet if possible because its very old and ugly! Trouble is, new loos appear to be quite shallow (close coupled) and mine currently sits quite far from the wall with the waste pipe going into the (concrete) floor?!
So what I really want to know is, is it a simple task to just change a lav or am I looking at a great expense or even impossible?
I really dont want to have to box in at the back if I can avoid it!

I wouldn't say its impossible. Some of the cheaper toilet to go type wc's seem to have the spigot further away from the wall so you might get one to fit. Rather than a box could you create a shallow stud wall behind to take up the difference.

Andy.

Using a swan neck pan connector will allow the pan to sit a bit further back but you will probably still have a gap.
