I may be trying to achieve something that is against regulations or I may well be over complicating it.
I have a double socket that is going to be covered by a large wardrobe resulting in it being inaccessible. I was planning on cutting a hole in the back of the wardrobe, plugging in an extension cable and hiding the cable in some way (surface mounted trunking) to get the socket to a new location for when the room is finished. I am now wondering if I could put something like a flex outlet plate on the double socket, extend the power to a surface mounted socket and have a more permanent solution.
There is space at the bottom of the wall where a cable could be hidden behind the skirting board, but think I read circuits shouldn't run horizontal somewhere?
First image is socket in question
Third image is an indication of where surface mounted socket would be
Forth image showing space at bottom of wall
Any assistance would be gratefully received, positive or negative.
