Moving house and need games room in the garden!

Probably have one in the cave and one in the house. For the cave, it would be wired up as well.

I have a question about dimensions etc.

If I buy a 3m x 3m structure, once I have insulated and plasterboarded the thing, how much internal space will that generally take off?

Are we talking something like 10cm off each wall so leaving a cabin space of about 2.8m x 2.8m?

Just trying to work out the size required to fit everything in, but not take up the whole garden! :D

On a side note, the house move should be progressing in the next month and so the garden clear out and build can start. Slightly later in the year than planned.

My plan at the moment, once I have decided on what cabin/pod etc to buy is I think in this order:

  • Get the base down and the structure up and watertight
  • Insulate floor and put wood laminate on top
  • Get electrics and networking installed
  • Insulate walls and roof
  • plasterboard the inside
  • Move in

Have I forgotten anything there?

Are the consoles/printers going in the man cave? Or are some remaining in the house?

Building a garden games room is the absolute dream! Having a dedicated, detached space for gaming and hanging out is so much better than trying to squeeze it into a spare bedroom. Planning the layout and making sure the foundation is solid is half the fun. It really reminds me of starting a fresh build in a sandbox game, where laying out the perfect base is everything. I always use https://topminecraftworldseeds.com/ to find the best landscapes before starting. Can't wait to see how your build turns out!
thanks for the information!
