Hello !
I'm in the process of buying a house and I already have plans on how to maximize its downstairs floor space.
The main problem i have is a staircase that divides the living room and dining room. I would like to move this 90 degrees so it is against the wall. Not having a clue on how to do this, I was wondering whether this is a professional job or something me and my mates could attempt ourselves. We would be using the same 'hole' as it were and the same stairs.
Thinking of it, the wall it's attached to may be a supporting wall so I may not be able to get rid of that.... could I replace it with supporting posts ??
This may be out of my depth so recommendations, links or advice would be greatly appreciated. !!!
thanks,
Nick
