Sorry if this has been asked before, but I need some basic help on using a multimeter (a website link would be great).

I know how to measure voltage (black to ground, red to live right?). What I am interested in is measuring resistance, closed circuit & open circuit, these are terms that to be honest don't mean much to me so I would appreciate a shove in the right direction.

BTW I need to know this for a boiler fault diagnosis course I am going on next month.

TIA
AB :D

If you want to measure the voltage between live and ground, yes.

I don't think they mean a great deal with respect to using a multimeter either - you measure a resistance by selecting a resistance range and connecting the test leads across what you want to measure....
