Went to see a couple of old air con units. The customer has had these installed for 20 years..Spot anything missing??

Bar the terminal covers which I take it you removed, the SWA isn't doing a very good job of earthing the unit

And no strain relief clamps either.

isn't it part of 523.1 "Al AC units must contain at least 6 dead spiders around the mains terminals" ?

Why does cool air need earthing? lol

Wish i could do work like that. Who's to say those units aren't on an isolation transformer? Don't need an earth then....

I'm kinda surprised you haven't mentioned the lack of isolation ?

However I can confirm a couple of things

1 the cover is painted the same as the unit and the armour is cut below that anyway
2 I don't believe it was wired through a transformer
