Maybe, but I was envisioning that there was probably an additional intermediate 'stage' - cast iron original in 1952, then change to Wylexes (with fuses) in late 60s/70s/early 80s, then swapping the Wylex fuses for MCBs (and adding the RCD) in 1993 ... but it's obviously all speculation!I reckon he did replace the original cast iron fuse box, the outline of it is still clearly visible.
I moved into my present house in 1987. At that time it had umpteen Wylex Standards, and I regarded them as being very much 'old hat' (and 'ready for replacement') even then, so I very much doubt I would have been inclined to allow anyone to install new ones as late as 1993.
