We stopped buying (the appalling) chicken from the main supermarkets years ago having tasted Aldi stuff. Their veg is good too. You have no idea Freddie. (either that or zero taste buds)So there is something impressive about Lidl after all.
It's called architecture tony. Similar to my local Sainsburys actually, I'll post a pic next time I'm in. Maybe we could all compare our local supermarkets.Impressive beams - certainly - but probably far more expensive than steel for what is really just another shed. The contrast between the warm, cosy timber and the industrial crinkly tin roof I find slightly odd.
These might have suited John Lewis better rather than Lidl.
Probably if it were solid wood but those look like glue lams, or maybe even wood covers for a steel beambut probably far more expensive than steel

I usually look on the shelves, not at the ceiling. It's all about the shopping experience.![]()
It's called architecture tony. Not everyone wants to live or shop in the Favelas. Or for the simpletons making what can sometimes be a depressing and tedious affair into something not quite so depressing and tedious by creating a nicer environment for which you do it it in. It also probably makes you spend a bit more.I usually look on the shelves, not at the ceiling.
