Need a carpenter to install 3 woodgrain internal doors

Hi all,

just wondered if there is a business or labour search site for a carpenter to fit 3 woodgrain internal doors (2 locks) and one frame at a cheap cost, i got quoted £500 from my neighbour which is a joke in all honesty.

anyone who knows of someone around the hertfordshire area ? looking to spend £250 max.

Hi sorry i shoulda been more detailed, I would just like fittings for the 3 doors. I will supply the doors and 2 out of the three to have locks fitted, i will supply 2 locks also and hinges.

the door frame i will not supply so if someone could supply the door frame that would be great plus fitting.

Below is a picture of one door and frame fitted in my home, this is a great job but was too expensive therefore i could not carry on the job for the rest of the home but below you can see the picture and the idea... i will have 3 of the same doors and this is the kinda job i would require.

My home is situated in a street and i have a drive way for parking , no decor finish is necessary , just fitting and supply of door frame.

What type of locks? hollow wood grain effect doors, the cheap ones don't have enough timber to take a door lock.You have bought the doors? are they the correct size?

Too difficult to give an estimate on the info supplied, personally, unless of course you've already bought the materials, I wouldn't bother.

That said, £500 labour for fitting of 3 doors plus one frame sounds very high, but I guess it depends on whether or not they are standard size, whether the hole where the frame is to be fitted is true and standard size etc etc...

That said again, this is a DIY site (door fitting is quite tricky IMHO)

Best to look in yellow pages, local rags, get 3 quotes / estimates and take it from there.

tis a good days work for all of that but imo a tad high on the price.do archs/stops need to be fitted aswell?

Well I live St Neots, so not too far depending on where in Hertfordshire you are. I've fitted those sort of doors in four houses so no problem there. Semi retired with time on my hands so if you want them, done, let me know, could do them this or next week but on holiday after that. Day or maybe day and a half's work, Sent you a pm
